Oak Ridge Police say that one person was killed and several others injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday. The wreck happened at South Illinois Ave. and Commerce Park Drive when a sedan collided with an SUV. 30-year-old Ashley Blalock, who was in the sedan, died as a result of the accident. 26-year-old Tabitha Douglas and a 7-year-old female were also in the sedan. Two adults, 78-year-old Celia Sparks and 52-year-old Jeffrey Sparks were inside the SUV. Police said both were injured. All victims were transported to UT Medical Center in Knoxville. Two were taken by LifeStar, and two were transported via ambulance. The extent of their injuries and current conditions was unknown at the time the report was taken. Roads in the area were partially closed for several hours Friday night while reconstruction teams worked. The crash remains under investigation.
