20-YEAR-OLD ARRESTED FOR DRIVING ON A REVOKED LICENSE, SECOND DUI
Late Wednesday night, Crossville police located a vehicle that had been reported borrowed and not returned to its owner, driven by a possibly intoxicated man. The vehicle was in the parking lot of the Circle K on North Main Street.
When approached by police and asked if he owned the truck, 20-year-old Robert Paul Jenkins told them he did, and he thought he had a warrant. Jenkins, who had red, watery eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, then said he’d driven the truck there and it was his friend’s vehicle.
A system check found Jenkins’ license was revoked for DUI.
Unable to satisfactorily complete standard field-sobriety tests, Jenkins was arrested for DUI and driving on a revoked license. He was placed under $4,000 bond and is due in court June 3.
