Claiborne County, TN- The North Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department lost one of their own Monday evening.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, 27-year-old Roy L. Sewell was traveling in the Spartan Fire Truck east on Cedar Ford Road when he reportedly failed to stay in the correct lane and ran off the side of the roadway.

The vehicle went into the embankment and then overturned.

North Tazewell Volunteer Fire Department posted, “With a saddened heart, we mourn the recent loss of our fallen brother, Captain Roy Sewell. We ask that you please respect his family at this time and them in your thoughts in this hard time. Roy represented the best of us all. We love you, brother.
