3.8 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE REPORTED IN CAMPBELL COUNTY, FELT IN CROSSVILLE

(DEVELOPING STORY) – The United States Geological Survey says a 3.8 earthquake took place in Campbell County early this afternoon. The center of the earthquake was one mile northeast of Fincastle, Tennessee. Initial reports indicate the quake was felt as far as 90 miles away in Crossville and even into Putnam County. The earthquake happened in the same place as a 2.8 magnitude quake yesterday morning. A damage report in Campbell County and the surrounding area is not available at this time. The quake today and others in our area come are part of the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone. A few damaging earthquakes have occurred in this zone; the largest measured 4.6 magnitude, occurring in 1973 near Knoxville
