3 ADDITIONAL CHARGES ADDED IN OAK RIDGE VEHICULAR HOMICIDE CASE

An Oak Ridge woman is facing three additional felony charges, including a second vehicular homicide charge, in the death of a 37-year-old Harriman mother and Roane County Schools employee after a three-vehicle crash at Oak Ridge Turnpike and Jefferson Avenue in May. The new charges, filed against Vicki G. Gilmore also include aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. The new homicide charge is vehicular homicide. The original charges filed against Gilmore, who is suspected of using a narcotic pain-reliever, were vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain a single lane, leaving the scene of an accident, violation of the implied consent law, and duty upon striking a fixture. Those charges were filed in May. A preliminary hearing has been set for 10 AM October 21st in Anderson County General Sessions Court. The 62-year-old Gilmore is accused of being under the influence of a narcotic pain-reliever when she failed to stop crashing into the rear of a Nissan Altima driven by Christy Duncan of Harriman and her 4-year-old daughter Janna. Gilmore also struck a second vehicle driven by Jason Watson. Both Duncan and the child were taken to UT Medical Center where Duncan later died from her injuries. Duncan was an employee at Roane County Schools, where she was a school social worker and worked with the student support team.
