3 DEAD, 1 CHILD INJURED IN RUTHERFORD COUNTY CRASH
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that three people were killed and a child was injured in an accident in Rutherford County Wednesday night. The crash was reported on Highway 99 near Armstrong Valley Rd. in Murfreesboro shortly after 8 PM when, 59-year-old Ronald Smith, the driver of a 2004 Nissan Xterra, crossed the road into oncoming traffic. His vehicle struck a 2015 Chevy Equinox head-on. Smith was killed along with the driver of the Equinox, 44-year-old Michael Collins and his passenger, 34-year-old Suzanne Collins. None of those killed were wearing seat belts. A 6-year-old boy in the Equinox was taken to the hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. The child was restrained.
