$4,000 WORTH LOST IN THEFT AT ROCKWOOD HOME

On May 29, 2025, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office investigated a theft at Price Loop in Rockwood. A U.S. Cellular employee reported that an unidentified suspect cut through a chain-link fence to access a cell tower site, stealing 30 feet of copper wire worth $1,000 and damaging two Arlo video cameras valued at $500, a section of chain-link fencing worth $1,000, and a meter box valued at $1,500.
Security footage showed a white male in brown boots, brown pants, a black jacket, and a hooded hat using red-handled bolt cutters to cut the wire before moving out of view, after which the video stopped. The meter box had a boot print, and the stolen wire was likely pulled through an underground conduit. The total estimated cost for repairs and replacements is around $5,000. The investigation is ongoing with no suspect identified.
