Cookeville, TN – On Sunday, August 13, 2023, at approximately 2:47 pm the Cookeville Police Department responded to a residence on Pigeon Roost Creek Road in reference to shots being fired.
While en route to the location, officers located a vehicle that was related to the incident, which appeared to have crashed in a field nearby. The driver, Robert Wade (42) of Cookeville, was found deceased inside the vehicle. Wade suffered injuries consistent with an apparent gunshot wound.
All involved parties were interviewed and to maintain the integrity of the investigation, their identities are being withheld at this time. The Cookeville PD believes this was an isolated incident and the public is not in any danger.
