$4,400 IN JEWELRY AND CUBS BASEBALL STOLEN FROM VILLAGEWAY HOME

Yesterday, Crossville Police Department units were called to the Villageway area for a burglary report. Officer Joshua Mangas arrived to the location at 8:56 a.m. and spoke with the 88-year-old complainant who said she had discovered some items missing from inside her residence over the past several weeks.
Among the items missing was an autographed baseball from the Chicago Cubs dating back to the 1960s worth $200.
Also missing was a small white cardboard box containing the complainants and her deceased husband’s jewelry. The box contained a gold necklace valued at $250, an Indian Head gold coin in bezel valued at $2,000, a gold nugget bracelet valued at $900, a diamond ring valued at $300, a diamond women’s necklace valued at $100, a silver and gold charm bracelet valued at $300, a wedding ring set valued at $300, and costume jewelry valued at $50. The total value of stolen items is $4,400.
There were no signs of forced entry and no suspects are known at this time.
