Last night around 8:30 p.m., a 64-year-old female was reported to have been shot in the head area. Rockwood police, fire, first responders, and an ambulance were dispatched to the scene on Trinity Avenue. There were also reports that the incident may have occurred on Trinity Avenue, so we are still working to obtain more specific details from the Rockwood Police Department.

The RPD information officer confirmed via text late last night that the investigation is ongoing and that no further information will be released at this time. We do know that the female was airlifted by LifeStar from the sports complex on South Chamberlain Avenue to a hospital in Knoxville, where her condition remains unknown.
