$64,503 RETURNED TO CUMBERLAND COUNTY’S GENERAL FUND
In the 2024–2025 fiscal year, the Cumberland County Assessor’s Office returned $64,503 to the county’s general fund through careful budgeting and efficient operations. Although the office’s budget had been set at $822,218 before Kelli Buchannon took office, actual spending for the year totaled only $757,715.
In addition to these savings, the office chose to delay the purchase of a new field review vehicle that had been included in a prior capital plan, generating further savings that are not included in the $64,503 figure.
Buchannon emphasized that the team focused on thoughtful spending while maintaining the high level of service the community expects. She noted that returning unused funds allows the money to be redirected to support other county departments and services that residents rely on. She expressed pride in her team’s commitment to operating with both accuracy and fiscal responsibility.
