On April 15, 2026, at approximately 1:22 PM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Monterey Highway / Highway 70 North in Putnam County, between Monterey and Crossville. The 2008 Mazda TRB, driven by 67-year-old Glenda Bilbrey of Tennessee, was traveling westbound when it crossed the center line, left the roadway to the left, and went down an embankment.

The vehicle then struck a dirt berm and overturned forward, coming to rest on its roof. Bilbrey was wearing her seat belt. the THP confirmed that the crash was not fatal, although Bilbrey did sustain serious injuries in the crash.

No charges have been filed at this time, and no other vehicles or passengers were involved.
