8 PUTNAM COUNTY SCHOOLS UNDER LOCKDOWN AFTER MORE HOAX THREATS
As of 10:30 AM, eight Putnam County Schools are under lockdown following multiple false threat calls received throughout the day. The affected schools include Upperman High School, Upperman Middle School, Capshaw Elementary, White Plains Academy, Jere Whitson Elementary, Highland Rim Academy, Cane Creek Elementary, and Cookeville High School.
The calls, believed to be from the same individual, falsely claim bombs or armed individuals are inside the buildings. All threats are being taken seriously and thoroughly investigated, with PCSO deputies and local agencies actively clearing each school to confirm there is no danger. Law enforcement has also increased patrols and security at other unaffected schools as a precaution.
Sheriff Farris stated that authorities are working with local, state, and federal partners to investigate and will pursue the perpetrator to the fullest extent of the law.
