9-FOOT ALLIGATOR RESCUED DURING FLORIDA DRUG BUST

In Jacksonville, Florida, a drug bust led to the discovery of a disturbing array of illegal activities at a residence on the Northwest side. Following a tip in March, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, with its SWAT Team, Narcotics Unit, and District 5 and 6 Task Force officers, conducted a search that uncovered cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, and multiple firearms.

The suspect, 49-year-old Marquis Williams, was arrested and now faces felony charges related to drugs and weapons. During the search, authorities found evidence of animal cruelty, including dog-fighting equipment, trophies, and neglected animals. Multiple dogs were found in deplorable conditions—kept in skyboxes or chained, covered in feces, fleas, and infections, with some bearing open or healing wounds.

Other animals, including raccoons and turtles, were similarly neglected. Most shockingly, a 9-foot alligator was discovered in a small, fenced area without water, surrounded by bones suggesting it was fed other animals. An alligator wrangler removed the alligator, and Williams now faces a dozen additional charges, including felonies for animal abuse and illegally possessing an alligator. He is currently detained at Duval County jail.
