INFANT ABUSED TO THE “BRINK OF DEATH”; DAD CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER

A new charge has been filed against a Lawrenceburg father accused of severely abusing his infant daughter.

According to District Attorney Brent Cooper, 30-year-old Michael Fisher is now charged with attempted first-degree murder for allegedly beating his 3-month old daughter, Addilyn. This is in addition to charges of aggravated child abuse previously filed against Fisher.

The infant’s mother, 27-year-old Brooklyn Tidwell, faces charges of aggravated child neglect for her failure to seek medical attention for her daughter. Her bond is set at $50,000.

Fisher’s bond is set at $500,000.

Over the weekend, police say they were called to investigate after the couple sought medical help for the infant at Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center.

Addilyn was airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where, officials say, she was in critical condition.

An affidavit claims Fisher abused Addilyn to the “brink of death”; the infant suffers from internal organ and brain damage. Family members said Addilyn sustained chest fractures and there are concerns about seizures and swelling on the brain. She was placed in a drug-induced coma in hopes of reducing the swelling.

Fisher and Tidwell’s other two children are already in state custody.
