WOMAN ADDED TO TBI TOP 10 LIST AFTER HIT-AND-RUN DEATH OF CHATTANOOGA COP

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added 54-year-old Janet Elaine Hinds to its Top Ten Most-Wanted List after a hit-and-run crash that  killed 38-year-old Officer Nicholas Galinger of the Chattanooga Police Department.

Hinds is accused of leaving the scene of the crash in which Galinger was struck while inspecting a manhole cover with water flowing from it on Hamill Road. Galinger, who was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, later died of his injuries.

Chattanooga Police Chief David Roddy said the community lost more than an officer. “We lost a son, a father, a friend and a protector,” he said.

Galinger had graduated from the police academy in January.

Hinds, who is 5 foot 7, weighs 150 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes, faces charges of vehicular homicide. TBI is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to her arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
