Multiple agencies responded to a report of two boaters stranded on the Sequatchie River Sunday. The Bledsoe County Rescue Squad’s Swift Water Rescue Team and the Dallas Bay Fire Department teamed up to rescue the pair, whose boat overturned. According to reports, the two were forced to cling to trees to keep from being swept away by the waters.

An investigation into the incident is underway. Recent heavy rains may have been a contributing factor.
