The Blount County Fire Department is reporting Highway 321 is closed in both directions at Carver Road.

A resident was burning debris outside, but the fire burned out of control and spread to a nearby used-car lot. Several cars on the lot were destroyed. The blaze continued on in the path of a home and an outbuilding, but firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it reached the home.

No injuries have been reported.

Several people in the area reported seeing a cloud of black smoke in the area.
