CUMBERLAND CO. SCHOOL BOARD REVIEWS SRO REPORT

The annual student resource officer report for the 2018-2019 school year was reviewed by the Cumberland County Board of Education at their meeting last night. SRO officers responded to a total of 94 incidents in schools across the county involving 78 arrests or citations issued. Fifty-four disorderly conduct issues and 57 violence related incidents were noted in the report. That also includes nine incidents involved weapons, seven theft related and one involving alcohol. The SRO’s in Cumberland County noted 1,688 consultation sessions on a wide range of topics in last year’s school term. That was broke down to 1,254 for students, 332 for parents and 102 for faculty. The board last night learned that this is a preliminary report and a more detailed report, including the number of drug incidents, will be released soon.
