UNEMPLOYMENT DROPS IN MANY AREA COUNTIES

Unemployment rates for each of Tennessee’s 95 counties dropped during August 2019 according to data released yesterday by the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. In the listening area, Cumberland County fell from 5.2 to 4 percent while Roane County dropped from 5.1 to 4 percent. Fentress County is at 4.7, Pickett County is 3.9, Bledsoe County is 4.9 and Rhea County has one of the highest unemployment rates in the state at 5.4 percent.
