WORLD WAR II BOMBER TO MAKE LOW LEVEL PASS THROUGH CROSSVILLE

The Crossville Police Department would like to announce that today (Saturday, September 28, 2019), the City of Crossville will host the annual Fly In & Open House at the Crossville Memorial Airport. The event, featuring civilian and military aircraft on display and kid friendly events, will take place from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

In an effort to make the public aware and to hopefully prevent any unnecessary worry, the city wants to let everyone know that one of the aircraft, a World War II bomber, will be making a low-level pass, along the route of Main Street prior to landing at the airport. The plane will be flying low and loud. This is 100% intentional and is not in distress or attempting to crash land.

Additionally, general parking for the event will be at the end of the runway, on Highway 70 West.

Handicapped parking will be located at the main terminal building entrance and the end of the runway on Highway 70 West,

Permit only parking will be located about halfway between the terminal entrance and the end of the runway entrance.

All parking areas will be marked with signs and police officers will be directing traffic.
