One person was killed and another injured in a two-vehicle accident in Overton County yesterday. Trooper Neil Matthews says a 2007 Volvo XC7 driven by 39-year-old Michael Owens of Byrdstown rear ended an antique 1952 Chevrolet operated by 71-year-old Bob Allen of Cookeville on Highway 111. Allen’s vehicle left the road and flipped twice. Allen, who reportedly was not restrained was ejected and passed away at the scene. Owens was injured in the crash and charges are pending against him.
