The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department says one of their deputies was seriously injured late yesterday afternoon in an accident.

At approximately 4:47 p.m., Deputy Chris Lynn suffered severe injuries from a crash while responding to an emergency call in Cookeville. Deputy Lynn was traveling west on 12th Street in Cookeville when he was involved in a wreck with a white Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.

The driver of the pickup truck was not seriously injured. Deputy Lynn was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center and then moved to Vanderbilt Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition as of last night. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public to keep Deputy Chris Lynn and his family in your prayers.
