SOUTH ALLEGEDLY PULLS BAG OF METH FROM CROTCH AREA BEFORE ARREST

While on patrol Friday night, a Cumberland County deputy noticed suspicious activity coming from inside a vehicle parked at Elite Market on Highway 127 North. The driver, 65-year-old Coy McClellan Ramsey of Jamestown, told the officer he did not have a license. Officers noted slurred speech from Ramsey as well as red, watery eyes. A consent search of the vehicle reportedly revealed 2 sets of digital scales, a powdery substance believed to be meth on the scale and a ledger containing monetary values for illegal drugs. A passenger in the vehicle 35-year-old Michelle Joyell South of Clarkrange, pulled a plastic bag from her crotch area containing 42 grams of a substance believed to be meth. Ramsey was arrested for public intoxication while South was charged with manufacture, sale and delivery of meth.
