Crossville police recently responded to a home on Myrtle Acres Lane for an altercation involving a firearm. The arrest report released today states 51-year-old Daren Joiner of Crossville grabbed a woman by the throat with both hands until she lost consciousness. When the victim woke up, Joiner was allegedly on top of her with a pillow over their heads as he held a handgun to her head. The victim managed to get free without further incident. Police reportedly found several firearms in the home including a .380 caliber loaded handgun under a bed mattress believed to be the weapon used in the altercation. Joiner was arrested for aggravated domestic assault.
