A Cumberland County grand jury issued a superseding indictment yesterday against a man for aggravated assault, Court documents state 68-year-old Donnie Whittenburg of Sparta struck a man with a firearm at a home on Faith Lane back in September 2017. Officers observed wounds to the victims side and ear. Whittenburg is scheduled to be arraigned on the charge in Cumberland County Criminal Court March 23, 2020.
