RASH OF COUNTERFEIT BILLS PASSED IN SEVERAL STORES IN CROSSVILLE

The fast actions of Crossville police today put a stop to a rash of counterfeit bills being passed by at least 4 subjects. Officers first responded to the VF Mall where several bogus bills were used to buy items in at least 3 stores. Soon after, authorities learned of other businesses in the city experienced the same incident. A couple of other stores refused to take the fake bills. The suspects covered the city in two vehicles. Police located one of the cars a short time later with an out of state tag occupied by 2 females inside. They were arrested and as of 2 p.m. today, officers were searching for the second automobile with the other suspects involved. An arrest report with the names of those charged will be released later by the Crossville Police Department.
