Firefighters in Roane County responded to a residential structure blaze at 3024 Roane State Highway in Midtown last night, behind the former bowling alley. They arrived to see heavy smoke coming from the attic area. All family occupants were able to get out safely. The American Red Cross is assisting them with a place to stay for a few days. A cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
