VEHICLE ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 70 WEST IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY RESULTS IN INJURY

A three vehicle accident on Highway 70 West near Pleasant Hill in Cumberland County late Thursday afternoon resulted in an injury. Troopers say a 2019 Jeep Cherokee driven by 67-year-old Cynthia Ferguson of Tennessee and a 2002 GMC operated by 73-year-old Bobby Davis from Tennessee were both stopped waiting to make a turn when a 2013 Chevy Volt operated by 78-year-old Gary Tucker from California hit the Jeep in the rear. The impact sent the Cherokee into the back of the Volt. Ferguson was hurt in the crash and Tucker was charged with failure to exercise due care.
