The Tennessee Highway Patrol responded to a tractor-trailer accident on I-40 in western Roane County early yesterday. Trooper Nathaniel Crow states a 2020 Volvo pulling a FedEx trailer operated by 52-year-old Davit Suknidze from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was traveling east at the 342 mile marker when the vehicle suddenly sustained a flat tire. The driver lost control, struck the guardrail, overturned and rolled down an embankment. Suknidze and a passenger, 41-year-old Irakli Tsereteli from Brooklyn, New York, were both hurt in the crash. They were restrained at the time of impact.
