(DEVELOPING STORY) – A female employee of Tiger Haven in Roane County was hurt today. Authorities she was feeding one of the animals through the cage when the tiger swiped, bit and clawed her arm causing serious injuries. She was transported by ambulance to U.T. Medical Center for treatment. The name of the employee was not initially released.

Tiger Haven is a nonprofit animal sanctuary that has been in operation since 1991. It is located just east of Kingston. The 80-acre property is home to 270 tigers, lions and various cats.
