Cumberland County deputies and medics raced to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Highway 70 East near Cox Valley Road early this afternoon. Sheriff Casey Cox said initial reports indicate a female driver in a Mazda Miata lost control, left the roadway and went into a ditch filled with water. Crews freed her from the car and she sustained very minor injuries. A full report, including the name of the motorist, will be released at a later time.
