JOHNSON FACES EVADING ARREST AND DRUG CHARGE

While on patrol on Cow Pen Road over the weekend, a Cumberland County deputy observed a motorist allegedly speeding. A check revealed the license plate did not match the vehicle it was on. The driver stopped on Sandy Creek Road and a passenger, Buddy Allen Johnson of Crossville, reportedly got out and ran. After a chase, Johnson surrendered. A search of the suspect supposedly revealed a container with small packages of meth inside and just over $300 cash. The driver was issued a citation for driving on a suspended license. Johnson was taken into custody for manufacture, sale and delivery of meth and evading arrest.
