The Tennessee Department of Transportation gave an update today on three active road construction projects in Cumberland County.

The first involves I-40 at near mile marker 328. This is at the bridge over Highway 70. There is a lane shift with eastbound traffic as crews continue to work there.

The second is utility work on Lantana Road between the intersections of Turkey Blind Road and Midway Road. Shoulder and single lane closures are possible between 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. now until May 15, 2021.

The third and most known project is the expansion of Peavine Road from just north of I-40 to Fairfield Glade. The posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 to 35 miles per hour and 30 miles per hour inside of Fairfield Glade. Temporary lane closures and/or traffic stoppages may be needed as paving, traffic signal work, and other construction activities continue.

Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution in these three zones.
