ACCIDENTAL SHOOTING REPORTED AT THRIFT STORE IN CROSSVILLE

Just before noon Saturday, police officers in Crossville responded to Threads of Hope in the Woodmere Mall for an accidental shooting. The report states 76-year-old Robert William Anthony of Whitley City, Kentucky was attempting to pay for merchandise at the register. He reached into his pocket to retrieve some change and unintentionally dropped a handgun in the pocket out onto the floor. When it hit the ground, the gun discharged a .22 Magnum bullet striking Anthony in his right foot. He was taken to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries were noted.
