Ninth Judicial District, District Attorney General Russell Johnson gave an update this afternoon into the investigation of Kevin Hamby of Morgan County. He has been missing since late 2017.

Last week, Hamby’s Polaris RZR was discovered which led to a search of the area where clothing, a revolver, a knife (confirmed by family members as belonging to Kevin Hamby) were located. A human male skull was also found authorities believe is that of Hamby (but has not been confirmed through testing that will be performed).

District Attorney General Johnson received a report today from Martin Schubert, Forest Manager with UT Forest Resources Research and Education Center. The analysis conducted by Schubert indicates the tree impacted by the RZR has undergone three growing seasons since the initial wounding was caused to the tree. Schubert’s report seems to support the timeline of law enforcement’s current working theory Hamby crashed his RZR late on the evening of November 14, 2017 then attempted to walk homeward after the crash.

Schubert’s report further supports law enforcement’s conclusion the RZR has been located in the same spot it was found for over three (3) years and not recently disposed of by some unknown third-party.

Johnson said the investigation continues to indicate this was an accident and no foul play is suspected.

Schubert’s entire report is posted in the pictures below (it make take a minute or so for all the pages to load to view):
