Phone scammers are targeting VEC PayMyWay customers in Crossville and Spring City.

A recording informs the customer that they will disconnect their service immediately unless they stay on the line to pay. The phone number calling is a spoofed copy of one of VEC’s phone numbers.

VEC does send automated calls when their customers are below $25.00 on their PayMyWay account. There is no demand for immediate payment or threat to disconnect. The members who reported the scammers today called the service center for their balance or checked online and were not caught in this scam.
