The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating a single vehicle accident that took place earlier this week. In the preliminary report issued this afternoon, troopers say an unknown driver was southbound on Highway 68 when the 2016 Jeep Compass ran off the left side of the roadway and went airborne down an embankment. Damage was observed to the front end and undercarriage. The motorist fled the scene prior to law enforcements arrival. Charges are pending in the incident.
