Deputies in Cumberland County responded late last night to a residence near Bud Tanner Road near Pleasant Hill for a shooting. The report states a man in his 40’s had his American Tactical handgun in a holster when he accidentally dropped it. He attempted to catch it and the gun discharged a shot striking his wife in the arm. She was flown to Erlanger Medical Center for treatment. Officers observed the gun in the holster with the end of the holster appearing to have a frayed hole at the end of it consistent with his statement of the incident.
