Crossville police recently responded to Cumberland Medical Center for a victim with a gunshot wound. Law enforcement stated a female in her 40’s got into an argument with her husband at a residence next to West Avenue, went out to her vehicle and retrieved a handgun. She went back into the dwelling and a physical altercation took place over the weapon. The trigger was pulled and a round struck her in the thumb. She was taken by private vehicle to the hospital for treatment. Because of conflicting statements from both parties involved, no charges were initially filed.
