(DEVELOPING STORY) – A driver in a vehicle reported stolen struck a pump at the Peacock Gas Station on Bockman Way in Sparta just before 6 p.m. this evening. Upon impact, an explosion happened resulting in damage. The canopy covering the gas pumps collapsed. An injury report was not initially available as the incident remains under investigation. No other details are available at this time.

The Sparta Police Department is expected to release more information on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 regarding this incident once the holiday period is over.
