Nashville, TN-  On Monday night, a 14-year-old girl was stabbed to death at a bus stop, which is located at Walmart off Dickerson Pike.  Malia Powell and another teenage girl exchanged words inside the store, which continued into the parking lot and to the nearby bus stop. The teen suspect reportedly asked Powell if she wanted to fight and then charged at her while holding a pocketknife. After the stabbing, the suspect fled the scene and the search continues. Powell was transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The investigation is focusing on surveillance cameras from the parking lot. Investigators do not believe Powell and the suspect knew each other prior to the stabbing. The suspect was described as white with brown and purple hair. No arrests have been made at this time.
