CUMBERLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE WARNING RESIDENTS OF SCAM

“A resident reported today they received a message on messenger from Sheriff Casey Cox telling them about Working Federation Block Grants. The message request that you click a link to find out more information. The information came from a fake Casey Cox account.
This is a new take on an old scam. Sheriff Cox will not send you a Facebook Message, or email, or make contact with you in any way asking you to click links, supply personal information or send money.
Be greedy with your personal information. Do not supply it unless you know for sure who you are giving it to.”
