Roane County, TN- Clinton Arley Campbell entered a guilty plea to two counts of Aggravated Vehicular Homicide by Intoxication.
On August 8, 2020, William Edward Daniels was driving a Harley Davidson traveling east on Interstate 40 with Sylvia Lane as a passenger on the motorcycle. As Mr. Daniels was slowing and pulling towards the shoulder, Clinton Campbell, driving a Dodge Charger struck the Harley Davidson from behind in the right lane of I-40 East. The Dodge rotated in a clockwise manner and overturned onto its top. The Dodge and the Harley Davidson continued east on I-40 for approximately 560 feet.
William Daniels and Sylvia Lane were both deceased at the scene as a result of injuries sustained from the crash.
According to a blood test, Mr. Campbell had a combination of Methamphetamine, Amphetamine, Diazepam, Marijuana, and other controlled substances in his system at the time of the crash.
Mr. Campbell had three prior convictions for Driving Under the Influence in the State of Tennessee and multiple felony drug and theft charges which allowed the District Attorney’s office to seek an enhanced sentence in this case.

Mr. Campbell will be eligible for parole after he serves 60% of that sentence, but that doesn’t mean he will be released.
