KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF SAYS THEY’VE RESPONDED TO 5 SCHOOL THREATS IN THE LAST WEEK

Knox County Sheriff Spangler took to social media today to address issues they have been seeing with school threats.
He stated that during the last week, Knox County Schools, outside Knoxville City limits, have had an increase in in-school threats. A total of 5 individual school threats have come in. A total of three arrests have been made by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Juvenile Crimes Unit.
A juvenile at Powell High School was arrested for a bomb threat.
A juvenile at Gibbs Highs School was arrested for a bomb threat.
And yesterday morning at 10:06 a.m. a juvenile student at Halls Middle School was arrested on charges of “Threats of Mass Violence.”
Investigations are currently underway at both Farragut High School and at Carter High School for weapons threats, more charges may be forthcoming in those incidents.
Sheriff Spangler stated that he and the Knox County Sheriff’s Office take these threats made in schools very seriously and will not hesitate to make an arrest for these threats as they are substantiated.
