Sequatchie County Sheriff’s office has released the name of the Correctional Officer and the inmate who was shot at after allegedly escaping from a hospital in Pikeville on February 10.

The Correctional Officer involved was Karen Line and the inmate involved is 33-year-old Cody Ray Higdon. Higdon is currently back in the Sequatchie County Justice Center jail facility and faces additional charges after trying to escape while in custody.

Higdon’s charges include:

• Two Counts of Aggravated Assault on a First Responder
• Resisting Arrest
• Escape
• Public Intoxication
• Disorderly Conduct
• Two Counts of Assault on a First Responder

The shooting incident remains under investigation by the TBI.
