White County Sheriff Steve Page recently presented Lt. James Blankenship with a plaque in remembrance of K-9 Reno’s service to the sheriff’s office.

Reno was born on September 16, 2010. Reno passed away on August 18, 2023, less than a month from his 13th birthday.

Reno joined the White County Sheriff’s Department on September 10, 2012, and was certified as a single-purpose K-9 tracker in 2012.

His handler, Lt. James Blankenship, later had Reno certified as a dual-purpose K-9.

Reno tracked down many suspects and assisted in locating and seizing illegal narcotics and cash derived from the sale of illegal drugs.
