POLICE: SUSPECT SWALLOWS BAG OF METH AFTER TRAFFIC STOP IN CROSSVILLE

A Crossville police officer recently observed a vehicle with a nonworking brake light turn onto I-40 from Highway 127.
The arrest report states the driver stopped at the Genesis Road exit.
The police officer allegedly observed a clear plastic bag containing meth in the lap of the passenger, 23-year-old Clarence D. Laymance of Wartburg.
A vehicle search reportedly revealed more meth, a firearm, and a bag of heroin.
During the incident, Laymance allegedly threw up a fourth small bag containing meth matching the other three bags seized by police.
Laymance was charged with the manufacture, sale, and delivery of meth, simple possession of a drug, possession of a firearm while committing a felony and tampering with evidence.
