A female and a small child were injured last night on Highway 27 underneath the interstate overpass in Harriman.

Initial reports indicate a vehicle hit the two.

Lifestar medics flew the child to U.T. Medical Center.

The woman went by ambulance to the same hospital.

Authorities say both should recover from their injuries.

The investigation is continuing as to who struck the two.

Law enforcement did not release any further information.
