A Cumberland County deputy observed a motorist Friday traveling on Highway 70 East near Crab Orchard going nearly 90 miles an hour in a 55 zone.

The arrest report states the driver, 25-year-old Dash Gage Dickson of Crossville, passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone. Dickson then made an abrupt turn onto Lavender Lane, where he stopped.

Dickson was ordered out of his vehicle and placed in the back of the deputy patrol cruiser.

The report states a passenger in the front seat, 24-year-old Katie Lynn Rodriguez of Crossville, told the officer it was her fault for the chase.

A K-9 alerted a deputy to the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle. Officers allegedly found two clear plastic bags containing a crystalized substance.

A consent search of a third passenger, 35-year-old Joshua Matthew Hicks of Crossville, reportedly revealed drugs.

A search of a fourth passenger, 27-year-old Dalton Andrew Woody of Crossville, allegedly revealed drug paraphernalia.

Dickson was arrested for reckless endangerment, reckless driving, evading arrest, and driving on a revoked or suspended license.

Hicks was charged with the manufacture, sale, delivery, or possession of meth and simple possession of drugs.

Rodriguez was arrested for the manufacture, sale, delivery, or possession of meth and tampering with evidence.

Woody was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia.
